Para finalizar con esta serie de post de Nueva York os hemos
puesto un mix de dos rutillas para hacer, eso sí....después de un buen
desayuno americano para tener fuerzas...jjjj.

El primer recorrido es el que personalmente más nos gusta, bajamos por la zona oeste de la ciudad por la octava hasta llegar a Chelsea, donde nuestra primera parada fue para fotografiar el mítico
Hotel donde en la década 60-80 se hospedaban intelectuales, poetas, músicos....de ahí nos fuimos más al oeste para ir a un parque muy singular que recorre unas veinte calles de la ciudad sobre unas antiguas vías de tren,
High Line Park, y desde el que hicimos unas fotos de las vistas a la ciudad y es verdad que según cambias de barrio son totalmente distintas, terminamos el recorrido por este parque lleno de bancos y tumbonas para disfrutar de vistas urbanas para acabar en un mercado que es visita obligada...el
Chelsea Market. Su decoración es de lo más singular, a nosotras todavía nos pillo en plena fiebre de Halloween pero la verdad es que es impresionante. En este mercado encuentras muchas cosas pero si lo que os apetece es ir a comer os recomendamos el
Lobster place, es una de las mejores pescaderías de la ciudad su especialidad: sushi, sashimi, unas deliciosas sopas preparadas con el mejor marisco...y unas langostas de un tamaño... lo bueno es que eliges lo que quieras te lo preparan en el acto y lo puedes comer en unas mesitas que tienen por todo el mercado y además es bastante barato. Y claro tampoco podemos dejar de enseñaros fotos de una pastelería que harían feliz a más de un niño...y no tan niño... jjjj

In this market you find many things but if what you want is to go out to eat I recommend the Lobster Place, is one of the best fish markets in the city his specialty: sushi, sashimi, delicious soups prepared with the best seafood ... and sized lobsters a ... the good thing is that you choose what you want to cook it on the spot and you can eat at small tables with all the market and is quite cheap. And of course we can not fail to show you pictures of a bakery that would make more of a happy child ... and not so young ... jjjj
Saliendo del Chelsea Market en dirección sur te encuentras el Meatpacking distric ahora lleno de restaurantes y pubs de moda además de muchas firmas de marca como Mathew Williamson, Stella McCartney... nosotras seguimos bajando al sur y pasamos por el West Willage hasta el distrito financiero donde hicimos parada por esta zona que esta llena de las típicas casitas con sus escaleras en la entrada llenos de plantas, pasamos por la famosa calle Perry que para los mitómanos la recordaréis porque es donde vivía
Carrie Bradshaw, protagonista de Sexo en Nueva York.

Una vez en el sur fuimos a
Battery Park donde se coge un
ferry gratuito que te lleva a Staten Island pasando al lado de la Estatua de la Libertad, el trayecto dura una media hora escasa y si lo planificas bien y la vuelta es atardeciendo tienes unas vistas del sky line de Manhattan impresionantes, todo iluminado.

Una vez hecho ese mini viaje subimos por la avenida Broadway que atraviesa todo Manhattan de norte a sur, pues fuimos subiendo hasta la calle 42 donde tienes que parar para ver
Grand Central... una terminal construida en la época de gran apogeo de los trenes en New York, puesta en marcha en 1871. Y prácticamente al lado esta también el edificio Chrysler, para nosotras uno de los más bonitos de Manhattan, si caminas en la otra dirección te encuentras con la plaza más mítica... Times Square donde sea de día o de noche sus grandes pantallas luminosas apabullan a cualquiera.

El otro recorrido es más relajado es perderse en
Central Park... este impresionante parque que hemos visto en millones de ocasiones en la televisión y en el cine... aquí merece la pena recorrer el lado oeste hasta llegar al
edificio Dakota, famoso porque vivió en el Jonh Lennon y se rodó la peli de la Semilla del diablo (1968)...justo ahí si te metes en el parque hay una placa conmemorativa a Jonh Lennon... Imagine. También visitar el
Belvedere Castle, dar una vuelta por sus lagos y puentes...en fin encontrarte en un bosque en medio de una de las ciudades más pobladas... Hacia la mitad del parque en ambas direcciones se encuentra la milla de los museos, aunque para poder visitarlos todos necesitas estar varios días en la ciudad, nosotras recomendamos el
Metropolitan.... se encuentra en el parque pero en la Quinta avenida, después bajamos toda esta avenida en dirección al hotel con parada en el segundo parque más entrañable de la ciudad el
Bryant Park, en verano ponen una pantalla de cine donde te puedes tirar y ver películas al aire libre y en invierno una pista de hielo con uno de los mercados navideños que en estas fechas inundan la ciudad, también un plus es que tiene WiFi gratuito y un montón de mesas y sillas para sentarte y tomarte uno de esos cafés americanos tamaño extra grande...
